Phil the Percussionist
Alas, though Phil drummed for many bands from 1950’s through the 1970’s, we have almost no recordings available, but here are three!
Phil the Jinglist
Starting in 1964, Phil made his name as an arranger working in Dallas for several companies, known collectively as the “Jingle Factory”. Phil listed several firms who used him as an independent contractor, on others he was on the staff- International Recordings, TM Productions, Pepper Tanner, P.A.M.S, , JAM, and Ken Sutherland Productions, to name a few.
Phil the Commercial Music Writer
Phil wrote music for radio and television commercials that aired locally in Dallas-Fort Worth market as well as nationwide. He also wrote music for other various media, including conventions, trade shows and museums.
Phil the Film and TV Composer
Phil wrote film scores for four movies and for three episodes of the award-winning TV show “Wishbone”.
Phil the Composer for Big Band Jazz
Phil wrote many charts for big band that have been played by groups from all over the world.
Phil the Arranger for Other Recording Artists
Phil enjoyed writing arrangements for other artists, including Doc Severinson, Al “TNT” Braggs, John Gary, Frank D’Rone, Bill Watrous, Stix Hooper, Primo Kim, Bloodrock and several symphony orchestras.
